Visalia

I am returning to Visalia after having been away for a year. Anything new and delicious? I have eaten at Acequia on Main and Cafe 225 in the past and liked them both. Are they still open and good? Anything else I should try?

I haven't eaten in Visalia in ages (live out in SLO now) but are Gina's and Rosa's still around. Their food was always so great - loved the calzone at Gina's.

Hi dimsumgirl. "Acequia on Main" and "Cafe 225" are both still there. I like Fugazzi's which is just east of those a bit.

If you are looking for good chinese, head down Mooney Blvd. to China Garden which is next to Baskin Robins.

There is a new Japanese Sushi Restaurant on Main street called Akamaru's. VERY good sushi at a decent price.

      Enjoy.

Will: Thank you for your recommendations. I just spent the weekend eating high quality Chinese in San Francisco with my firends and our cooking club so I am fortunate in having access to good Chinese. I also picked up some really fresh produce and BBQ meats while there so we will get to enjoy good Chinese at home. We also have ample opportunity to each fresh sushi and Japanese near home.

Thanks for the update on Acequia, Cafe 225 and Fugazzi's. I meant to try Fugazzi's in Clovis but they closed before I could get there. I will see what tempts my appetite when I am in Visalia this week and choose accordingly. Nice to have the options from a local. Appreciate your suggestions, Will.

Pie? It's okay EXCEPT when it's banana cream pie and bcp with chocolate? I'm so there!
