So who is it? Who makes the best burger Downtown?

I don't know so much about Twisted Root. Have tried both the buffalo and regular (beef) burger, ordered med rare. Both were cooked properly, but they were dry. Perhaps too lean? But, the ancho chipotle ketchup - now that rocks! (of course, with a food processor/blender, you could make that at home)

Although it's been about 5 years since I've been to Adair's, it would definitely get my vote on good, juicy, THICK, handmade burger. And they've only been around about 100 years. Original location was on Cedar Springs, before gaytown, was gaytown - that long ago.

Don't forget Lee Harvey's burgers. They're easily in my top 5 of DFW

Would definitely agree with Twisted Root.

Yep I would agree with both for different reasons. Twisted Root is a good solid "gourmet" style burger with plenty of options for stuff on the burger., very tasty.

Adairs it a throwback to a simpler time, the old bar burger joints. Not a lot of "stuff" options, but just a really good burger. It's also one of the few places that I am likely to eat one and order another, just because I have not quite had enough.

I'd say: Angry Dog, Twisted Root, or Adairs...all in Deep Ellum.

Fuddruckers, seriously? Maybe you think Burger King is a serious contender for the title too.
