I just noticed this place yesterday on Ventura Blvd at Van Nuys. Anyone have any info?

I just happened on it this weekend; unfortunately I did so while waiting for my take-out order from Pita Kitchen to be completed, so I didn't order anything.

It has a nice, if plain interior. The man behind the counter was super nice in answering our questions. Their menu is nothing special or new, but they serve anything from crepes to panini to lighter, healthier fare. As wetwater indicated, they also have a small pastry selection and frozen yogurt.

Glad to read it's tasty, although I know the second my wife and I walked out we both said to one another, "I don't know how long it can last". Just first impressions, but knowing how steep rent is on Ventura Blvd, they might struggle.

Address? Cross street? Website? This could be a new good close to home spot.

Crave is on the south side of Ventura Blvd. just west of Van Nuys Blvd. It is next to Robbie Mac's pizza. I think Crave's address is 14506 or 14508 Ventura. I've passed it a couple of times on my way home. I'm looking forward to going there soon! I don't think it's a corporate chain.

It's... acceptable. I saw it a while back, since I live nearby and was hoping for something really interesting. Pita Kitchen is great, but every once in a while it'd be nice to have some diversity!

Overall, food is decent, but unspectacular. I've had their lentil soup and one of their paninis (tuna), as well as a macaroon. The soup was actually pretty good and well seasoned, though I can't say I'm sure it's homemade. The soup was decent, but unspectacular. Less than great bread, less than great tuna, overall less than great.

In general I'd say give it a shot and maybe you'll have better luck than I did. They also serve breakfast and crepes, which I may have to try. I'd really like it to succeed, but based on what I had, I wouldn't count on it for the long run.
