DFW - Bo luc lac??

The SO and I lived in Houston for several years and one of our favorite Vietnamese restaurants was Chinos Fast Food, aka Hao Hao Mi Gia off Bellaire. They had the most flavorful and tender bo luc lac with tomato fried rice. I have tried several locations here in the DFW and it does not come close to Chinos. Need the help of the hounds again! Thanks in advance.

What makes the bo luc lac at Mo Mong better than Vietnamese enclave along Bellaire? I am curious now.

I really enjoy the sauce and that they use filet mignon. plus i have never been to many other places. just throwing down my two cents

While not as flavorful (spice use) as Que Houng in Houston the bo luc lac at Nam Hua in Richardson/Garland is probably worth the trip. I don't believe they serve it with tomato fried rice but I do know they have that on the menu. Nam Hua happens to be one of my favorite in the metroplex for Vietnamese and I have tried my fair share of them. Banh Xeo there is awesome. I have included their very simple website....no menu just an address and phone number.

Another two places that might be good but I have not yet tried is La Me (link provided below) and Kien Giang. Kien Giang actually moved to the NEC Plano Rd and Walnut. They are next to the Dominos Pizza and behind the Burger King that faces Plano Rd. Both would be my backups if you didn't like Nam Hua.

I am not sure of the flavor profile you are looking for in your bo luc lac but you can try to describe it to the waiter/waitress and could probably duplicate that of your place in Houston. I know at Que Houng in Houston they used a small amount of Chinese five spice on theirs.
