Does anyone know of a place to get squash blossoms? Can either be to order at a restaurant or to buy in a market and prepare at home, or both!

  1. Sorry - forgot to mention where I am. Ft. Lauderdale area.

    1. I have never seen squash blossoms sold in any market. I believe I've had them in restaurants at Michael's Genuine and at Fratelli Lyon but only as a special, not a regular menu item.

      1. Squash blossoms have a very short shelf life so it's something you have to make a day or two after picking. That said, aside from specials at certain restaurants, the only place I've seen them for sale is the outdoor market in Bargaintown way down near Homestead. It's a trek from FLL I know, but aside from hitting up relatives for them it's the only place I've seen them. I can't believe farmers markets here haven't caught on to selling them!

now that you mention it, I've seen them in that huge Homestead market as well.

        2. I recently had very good zucchini flowers (stuffed with burrata) at Valentino's in Ft. Lauderdale. Not sure if it was a special or on regular menu. It's a great place

          1. I had stuffed 'calabaza flowers' at Michaels genuine last night. I also had them at Casa Tua several months ago.

            1. Thanks for the info, I'll try Valentino's - maybe check the website or give a call first to see if it is a special. I'm not sure I'll be driving all the way down to homestead!

              1. I spotted some squash blossoms in the Hollywood farmer's market this past Sunday. The market was right on the boardwalk.
