  1. DiPasquale's in Highlandtown.

Used to be one of my favorite lunch places on Saturdays. I was in there a couple of Saturdays ago and it was PACKED with a line all the way to the front door. I could hardly move around the store because the line was snaking everywhere. I used to just walk up to the counter and order, then walk around and shop and there would always be someone there to help if I needed it. I am afraid those days are over. Good for them with all the publicity and business, but I'll be doing my weekend lunches and Italian food shopping elsewhere until it calms down.

    The Food Network strikes again...

I agree...Saturdays are packed all day long. Try going after work during the week for your shopping. They have great sandwiches and I always pick up a few individual lasagna portions to keep in the freezer when I don't feel like cooking.

I agree, it's great for them but bad for us. I have tried to go at ranging times on the past few Saturdays but have literally walked in the front door, turned around and left.
Ironically, a couple weeks ago I left DiPasquale's and went to G&A's on Eastern (since I still had never been) and it was nearly empty! Couple dogs loaded, gravy fries, a diet coke and a chocolate milkshake to go. All in all a very nice meal that is probably more appropriate for tonight's Fat Tuesday Supper!

Maybe if we start talking up G&A's we can have our Italian back ;-)
