Does anybody remember Stats restaurant in Beverly Hills?

There were two locations ...one on Wilshire Blvd. near Doheny Dr.....the other on Pico near Palm Dr. They were around until the early seventies. I have memories of a char broiled burger they made and it was served on grilled garlic bread made on a sourdough french roll. I haven't found anything close to it since. The combination of flavors was outstanding...it came with their house 1,000 island and needless to say a memorable burger. Can anybody suggest a place to get something comparable?

Strangely enough (or maybe not) Marie Callendars has their "San Francisco" burger as described here:

"Grilled parmesan sourdough with crisp lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and Sweet Gerkin Thousand Island dressing."

Does that sound somewhat like what you are recalling from Stats?

Thank you for the suggestion but it was really the combination of the char grilled flavor and the grilled garlic roll and also the texture of the roll which was grilled on one side with garlic butter that really made this outstanding.

Sorry, but we've removed a number of posts sharing memories of Stats.

Chowhound's mission is to help everybody eat better right now, today. Nostalgia threads are fun, but they usually end up chatty, taking a lot of space and diluting Chowhound's effectiveness.

If anyone can help find a comparable burger today, please share that info. But memories of no longer available items or restaurants are off-topic for Chowhound.

      Thanks for understanding.
