Galangal and Kaffir Lime Leaves

Does anyone know where I can purchase these items?

Available fresh and frozen at the Cherry St T&T, and likely at any store featuring Asian produce. T&T does, indeed, label galangal as "white ginger".

The fresh lime leaves are amazing. A little goes a very long way, so I freeze them at the first signs of drying. The flavour and aroma, while somewhat weakened, remain wonderful.

Oh, if I have any left over lime leaves, I use them to brew Ice Tea. It creates such a fantastic ice tea -- especially if you slightly over-sweeten it.

Both can be found at well-stocked Asian supermarkets. T&T regularly has them in stock. Just make sure you know what galangal looks like. I may be wrong but I think T&T sometimes labels galangal as "white ginger."

I have bought both of these from the shop in the centre-north are of the basement level of the SLM.

I have also bought them from Oriental Harvest (or whatever it is called), the basement grocery store on the west side of Spadina just south of St. Andrew.
