From The Economist, the assertion is that what differentiates us from others is that we cook our foods, and it enables the evolution of the larger cranial cavity in the homo erectus.

    This prompts at least 2 thoughts:

    (1) I suspect most pet foods are cooked these days. Does that mean we're soon going to have dogs and cats with human intelligence?

    (2) I always thought that raw food diets sounded, well, sort of stupid. Now I know why.

      Ah, perhaps that's the secret agenda behind the raw food movement in pet foods!

        And it's proven on Hell's Kitchen every week. These buffoons couldn't cook their way out of a paper bag - therefore confirming the assertion that they are all from a species, not too evolved.
