1st time at Mrs. Jones, Dorchester

What a gem of a place. Excellent ribs, fall off the bone tender and the sauce is spot on...not too sweet or too overpowering. Fried chicken was not the least bit greasy and the meat was tender. Best black eyes peas I ever had, perfectly seasoned collards and the mac and cheese was a creamy delight! Generous portions at a low price. The place is immaculate.
"Mrs Jones" runs the counter and "Mr, Jones" is the chef , very friendly people, which makes it an enjoyable place to patronize, on top of the great straight forward food.

Very nice people. I went last night and got the fried chicken with mac-n-cheese and mashed potato. All were great. The red velvet cake was pretty dry. Get there early and prepare to wait. I went late and they were out of yams and banana pudding, two of my favorites.

Our favorite place for a fried chicken fix. Great yelp reviews. The chicken is juicy, tender, delicious and expertly fried. But what's equally impressive is the quality of all the sides. We get an extra order of mac and cheese every time. Candied yams are amazing too - not cloying at all.

The kitchen itself is huge (very industrial and clean). However, they have counter seating for about four people, so be prepared to order take out. Make sure you drive home FAST!

The deep fried turkey there is outstanding, by the way. And the pork chops are about the best I've had in the Boston area.
