Visiting and would like a recommendation

Hi, I will be visiting Boston with 6 girlfriends and we are looking for a fun, lively restaurant for Sat night. Moderate prices, really good food but also someplace that has a great atmosphere. We are staying in Back Bay but anywhere downtown would be fine.

thanks

You might want to scout out 28 Degrees in the South End

The Beehive. Great bar scene without It being too loud and the food is really awesome.

What about Stella? Good food, good scene. Does get crowded but I believe they take reservations. Sit in the front dining area.

How about POPS? would that be a good choice?

It's a good neighborhood place but definitely not a destination restaurant given a single night. I'm not sure what to recommend to you since I'm unsure of your definition of fun - it has had a different for me over the years.

Perhaps Persephone in the seaport district of South Boston.

Don't think of Mistral as moderately priced, but maybe so now with the reported new bar menu - but the wine and cocktails will come at a real premium and aren't really special in my experience.

Eastern Standard, Gaslight, Summer Shack/Kings, Via Matta

Another vote for Toro if you can get in.

Are you looking for dining or club experiences? Or both?

The House of Blues just opened on Lansdowne Street next to Fenway Park. I have no idea how the food is, but I bet it is fun.

thanks, i was thinking restaurants and/or bars but not club experiences.
