We went to Thaibodia for the first time because of a 40% off coupon (to use M-F before 6pm and we eat Early!) we got from the Eye section of the Mercury Newspaper. Since work, co-worker, and I get the Mercury I have 2 other coupons for future trips!

It's next to Mr. Chau's in the El Camino Center: to the Left of Smart & Final . Plenty of parking.

They have a bar and 2 small dining areas. Place looks clean & modern inside.

Dishes we tried:

21. Larb w/ pork salad $7.95 - l thought the minced pork (other choices are chicken or beef) was dry. Plenty of lime juice, chilis, cilantro, ground rice (didn't notice). I won't order again.

31. Tom kha soup w/ chicken (choice of pork, veggie, beef). We got the small which is enough for 2-3 people. It was ok. $6.50

64. Duck curry $9.95 - some duck slices in a red curry sauce w/ bamboo shoots, tomatoes (didn't see), pineapple (lots), bell peppers, & basil. I thought it was pretty good, not enough duck for me.

52 pad see ew w/ chicken $7.95 - They Ran Out of the Noodles!! We couldn't get this dish. So sad!

Instead got #42 Ka Ree crab meat fried rice $8.95 - I think I saw ONE teeny tiny piece of crab meat! Biggest rip off Ever! Don't get this dish for the crab meat. Pineapple fried rice another table ordered looked better.

Original cost $33.35 - 40% (13.34) + tax $1.65 = $21.66 Before tip.

Separate men & women bathroom.

Recommended if you get the 40% off Coupon!

  1. Thanks! I've been wondering about this place. The Yelp reviews have only been so-so.

Now I want to change the last line to read: Recommended if you have the 40% off coupon ONLY! Not the best Thai, just ok, and only if you're in the area anyways.

    2. In another thread, yuko mentions Thaibodia positively.
