historic restaurant, rehearsal dinner

Hi,
We are looking for a place to host our rehearsal dinner in Boston. We would like a historic restaurant, preferably Americana, New England, or seafood fare. Unfortunately the Union Oyster House and Jacob Wirth's are already booked. Any other suggestions?
Party size about 40, private room preferable, price range not as important.
Tourist traps ok, since most are from out of town. Suburbs ok too.

Help, or we will be stuck at Maggiano's!

For atmosphere you can try Bond at the Langham hotel http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/592910

The Fireplace in Brookline is nice Americana, and accommodates large parties

Since some one has already mentioned Locke-Ober, how about the Oak Room at the Copley Plaza? Also I don't know if they are still open but the Hampshire House might fit the bill.

Two not on your list and historic would be Parker's Restaurant and Durgin Park.

Wayside Inn in Sudbury or (ugh) Anthony's Pier 4

In the case of Pier 4 it was more about A.A.'s histrionics rather than being historic. :-D

How about Locke-Ober? There are private rooms upstairs that would be just the right size.

Locke Ober fits the bill perfectly.
