Small Wedding in Orlando

Hi Everyone,

I’m looking for some help and advice! Me and my fiancé are looking to come to over to Florida from the UK in August 2010 to get married. We will be coming over with our families which will be about 25/30 people approximately 8/10 of those children.

We are looking initially for a nice place to get married (say our vows) but more importantly a restaurant to all go to on the evening for a meal. Ideally somewhere where we can have cocktails on arrival and then some nice food. We like all types of food so it’s more about the right venue and obviously must be child friendly and something a little special.

Any help would be great fully appreciated.

Thanks Richard

There are a number of bed and breakfasts that would also fit the bill. A quick word of caution...we've seen numerous long standing local and national mainstays shutter their doors in the past year due to the weakened economy. I'm sure that there will be additional closings in the months prior to your wedding, so try to safeguard yourself as best as you can. Does this mean go with a larger chain hotel or venue? May be.

Best of luck to you and your bride and sincere congratulations on your engagement.

Near the convention center, several very good restaurants have private party rooms that would be ideal for your wedding dinner. Among the best are Antonio's Sand Lake, Vine's Grille & Wine Bar, Roy's Orlando, and Oceanaire. All have good food and lovely environments.

Check on Mount Dora, Florida. It's about 20 miles north of Orlando on route 441. Town is on a big lake, with an inn (Lakeside Inn) on the eastern shore with rooms and cottages, and a very nice restaurant. Rustic, centrally located yet out of the way...
