San Juan, PR - Wedding Venue Rec's or Places to Avoid?
Hello,
I am trying to plan a destination wedding in San Juan or Old San Juan, Puerto Rico for 50-100 guests. Good food, drink, and service for the reception are very important (we're foodies!). Does anyone have any recommendations on venues or tips? I am planning from the Northeast and I am able to take a few trips in order to check out/plan. The wedding will be in summer 2010.
Thank you so much for any advice you can offer.
Check out El Convento..lovely. They have parking and it's very romantic. The photo ops for the wedding in the area would be lovely as well.

Thank you so much for your response to my post! I am visiting San Juan in July, and I will definitely check out Hotel El Convento! I went to their website, and it looks beautiful!

I'm also having a destination wedding in Old San Juan, PR (March 2010). I took a trip last month my favorite two venue's were Hotel El Convento and El Conquistador. Did you already make your trip? If so, what venue's did you visit? Any advice or comments?
Thank you.

Avoid Varitas at the Condado Plaza although owner is supposed to be a good chef is the worst food in the Island.

Congratulations!
my first pick for gorgeous food and beauty : Museo de Arte, 299 Avenida José de Diego, Santurce. a great indoor space plus it has a beautiful enclosed sculpture garden. Wilo Benet's Pikayo is onsite (the only michelin star restaurant in PR). We never miss a chance to dine there when we are in San Juan.
I also concur with El Convento, fabulous architecture, convienent location and a good tapas restaurant.
