After sledding at Mt. Laguna this morning, we headed up to Julian for lunch. After seeing the usual unexiting dining options, we continued toward Santa Ysabel to try Jeremy's on the Hill, as recommended by a few Chowhounds.

Located at the 78 and Wynola, it's located in the same building as the old Tom's Chicken and several failed establishments.

Finally, this neck of the woods has a worthwhile restaurant. The menu can satisfy all palates, with everything from burgers to crepes to lobster bisque. The chef - who trained at the Cordon Bleu in San Francisco - is great at execution, and I've never seen my kids devour hamburgers with such zeal as today. Perhaps it was the filet mignon and ribeye steak that comprise the patty, but I must say it was among the top burgers I've ever tasted.

I enjoyed the chicken crepes, while my spouse had the buffalo style turkey burger. We finished with creme brulee.

The decor was homey and service attentive and gracious. I enjoyed a nice Orfila Chardonnay, and the wine list was better than I expected.

I look forward to exploring their menu again. It is definitely worth bypassing the rest of what Julian has to offer and head toward Wynola for this refreshing little spot.

It was great to read this review, but man is that location the definition of a kiss-of-death spot. In the last 5 years I believe that Jeremy's is the 3rd restaurant there with many months of an empty building in between. Another problem, is the food the right type of the people who drive up there? Time will tell, but I definitely will check it out.

We went about a month ago for lunch on a Sunday. We each had one of the burgers and they were both excellent. We plan on going back soon to try something else.

Wow eatemup...this place has incredible food!
Had lunch today at Jeremy's On the Hill...had the cheeseburger with grilled onions, fries and side salad with a glass of Orfila Chard and my friend had the Monte Cristo and he said it was the best he's ever had...burger was seasoned well and served MR/Med with grilled onions and I had the bacon on the side..I rarely eat meat, so this was a treat.
Service was excellent..
We just had sandwiches but they were some of the best gourmet sandwiches I have ever had!
Can't wait to try it for dinner..
It's in the old Chicken Shack Restaurant in Wynola..the town before Julian..
I wish Jeremy and his staff all the best!
