Flip Happy Crepes...A+!

nyc_girl13 Feb 21, 2009 12:33 PM

Flip Happy Crepes is one of my favorite hot spots in Austin. Everything, both sweet and savory, are to die for. My favorite crepe has roasted chicken, carmelized onions, and goat cheese. It is delicious, I find it very difficult to branch out and try a new crepe. There will just about always be a bit of a wait here, but don't give up! It is certainly worth the wait. Also, pick a day with nice weather, because you are sitting outside of an airstream trailer, which makes it all the more a fun experience. For dessert, try Bev's Brownie Crepe. It is literally a brownie inside of a crepe with whip cream and chocolate shavings on top. Or a banana/strawberry nutella crepe, very yummy. The only downside to flip happy is the wait, but sometimes it's nice to sit, relax, and have a good conversation!

I went to Flip Happy thinking it would be just a fun "Austin" experience. I didn't expect the food to be so good since they make it out of a trailer. I have liked everything I've ever tried there!

Has anybody had their breakfast crepes before? I've heard that they serve them on Saturdays from like 7-10. That seems like a fun idea, but I don't know how good eggs and bacon would be in a crepe...

First bumped into this when they were over by FLoribunda. Wonderful ham & gruyere. And everything. Really, really good.

Off of Barton Springs on a small, unexpected side street, Jessie St . (Super close to P.Terry's, Austin Java, Shady Grove, Chuy's)

20 years ago, I lived behind Chuys on Barton Springs in an Avion trailer.

                Great times then.
