Help! Dinner for 6 on Sunday -- with parents

sara333 Feb 20, 2009 08:29 AM

I am taking my out-of-town parents and some of their friends to dinner and need a mid-priced place (i.e., entrees in the low 20's) with great food, preferably Italian, where we can get fish. East village or other downtown location would be ideal. I was considering I Coppi, but they can be a bit uneven. Thanks so much, everyone!

Maybe lunetta in flatiron or crispo in chelsea. not sure if they have fish on the menu, but look at paprika in the east village --- but it is on the small side, can feel a bit cramped.

Just FYI: Lunetta closed down about 2 weeks ago and the Manhattan location is gone. Unfortunately I had just tried it 2 weeks prior to that and LOVED it.

You can try Peasant in NoLiTa, which is always delicious.

A friend just recommended Via della pace, Supper or Bianca. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Via della pace is a cute cafe but food is nothing impressive. Its more neighborhoodie than destination. The places your friend has chosen would be great with friends. Plus I doubt any of them uses fresh fish on their menu. My pick would be Aquagrill.

Supper is a solid restaurant and a good value.
