Mother's Day brunch in Los Angeles

Will be in LAX in early May. Any suggestions for Mother's Day brunch buffet in the LAX airport/Westchester/Santa Monica/Marina Del Rey area. There will be a dozen of us including several really senior citizen. A buffet will give us enough food choices for the young ones as well as the senior citizens.

Mahalo!

    1. Here are the restaurants that serve Sunday brunch. You should call and confirm if they are serving Brunch on Mother's Day.

Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel -- Buffet brunch, which runs about $45 a person. If I recall, they serve champagne with brunch.

I Cugini (Santa Monica) -- Italian restaurant on Ocean Avenue, also buffet. I think it's $42 a person.

Joe's (Venice) -- A la carte, but very, very good.

Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey -- Extensive brunch buffet which includes caviar and champagne. $50 a person, might be more with champagne.

If you're willing to travel inland, my favorite brunch is The Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. It's a buffet, and they have great waffles. $48. And... The Bel Air Hotel serves their brunch off of a menu, which is $50 a person.

We've done i Cugini, and it's fine. big selection of seafood bar, as well as pastry stuff. mimosas/champagne as well. however, i'm not sure how mobile your senior citizens are, and if they mind cramped or louder or whether you'll just go get the food for them... i Cugini is tightly packed esp on Mother's Day, and the way they set up the buffet makes for a bit of a traffic jam by the food.

we've also done Campanile (as mentioned by Samantha), and it's to me, less chaotic because it's a sit-down affair.

i agree with breakfast at Four Season's as well, tho admittedly i've never done it on mother's day - the lemon ricotta pancakes are great. Jer-Ne at the Ritz in the Marina is a great choice too. Traditional buffet.

          • We're going to Campanile, though that may be too far for you. Brunch is ala carte and very reasonably priced (and good, too!). They still have some reservations left.
