Is anyone aware of any "fake" or vegetarian chicken with certification? I know there is a brand (Amy's?) with breaded chicken nuggets, but I'm looking for look-alike/taste-alike product that mimics chicken pieces. I know there are several convincing brands on the market, but none with kosher certification.

Any ideas?

Trader Joe's Chickenless Nuggets (breaded) has the OU, Morningstar Farms Buffalo Wings (breaded & reasonably spicy) & Morningstar Farms Meal Starters Chick'n Strips (unbreaded, more for stir-fry type dishes) have the OK. (BTW, I really like the Morningstar Farms Meal Starters Steak Strips, also OK, but you specified chicken). There are other brands available that I've seen at health food stores, but I can't recall any brand names.

Morningstar makes the buffalo wings and plain chik'n nuggets. Smart deli makes chick'n strips that aren't breaded. I also like the Morningstar meal starters.

Midland Harvest makes a 'chicken bits' that's pretty good. http://www.midlandharvest.com/
I believe they're still kosher.. I used to buy them in bulk from the website. The texture is pretty good and even my meat-eating brothers enjoyed it when I used it for recipes.

I think Yves also has a new 'chicken' product. I believe I saw it in Whole Foods..I haven't tried it myself yet.
Seitan is usually a good alternative for stir fries as well (I get it from Whole Foods-- West Soy brand, I believe)

I tried the Yves Meatless Steak strips recently. They were the best I've ever tasted. Better than tempeh, tofu, tvp, etc. Even better than Seitan. I've been having a very hard time locating this product though. If anyone sees "Yves Heart's Desire Meatless Beef Strips" in the 5 towns or close by, please let me know!

Quorn is also pretty good, it has a meatier taste than Morningstar Farms. Note that there is no hechsher printed on the box but the London Beth Din says it's kosher (that is the way it is generally done in Europe) and that's good enough for me.

The Quorn is what local markets near me sell, and I think it's excellent, but the lack of hechsher is a problem here... I'll try to find the London Beit Din ruling online...

From the Quorn website:

Are Quorn products suitable for a Kosher (Jewish Religion) diet?

At the present time we cannot claim Kosher status for any Quorn product. Consultations with Manchester Beth Din have indicated that mycoprotein is almost certainly Kosher but we cannot guarantee that the other ingredients used in product manufacture are too. In addition whether the product is Kosher Parve or Kosher Dairy should be considered.
