i have been, but not for the RW menu. the food was top-notch, service a little on the annoying side...but i will most definitely be back, it's my new favorite place in capitol hill.

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by annoying?

oh god. ok, so, we got there and sat down and were waiting for a third to join us. the waiter asked us if we were ready to order while i was still hanging my coat up. i said no politely, and that we were waiting on someone else to join us. five minutes later he comes up again and asks us if we're ready to order. i said no again politely, but that we'd still wait for the third person. He does it again five minutes later, and so i apologize for our third running late but that we'd prefer to wait for him to order. The third finally arrives and is still hanging up HIS coat when the waiter comes over and asks if we're ready to order — our third hadn't even picked up his menu yet. it was quite obnoxious, but forgettable because the food was divine — chicken and waffles, onion pie (more like a tart), assortment of fried fresh seafoods and this amazing remoulade dipping sauce that was so addictive we had to order two more ramekins of it.

        go.

Our service, lunch, not during RW week, was similar. The food was awesome, but our server hovered, seemed to want to rush us and was fawning to the point of obnoxiousness. I chalked it up to an eager desire to please from a new place in a neighborhood that desperately needs it. That brunswick stew - just the perfect remedy if you are feeling the need for something comforting, filling and rustic.

Yes that is super annoying. But the food sounds great.

i'm glad to see a favorable review. i have a reservation for tomorrow but was getting second thoughts after reading some negative RW reviews on yelp and tripadvisor. still debating. service as well as food is key for me.

I went today and got the restaurant week menu. It was very decent - I had brunswick stew (tons of nice smokey chicken and pork), fried chicked (SUPER good - crispy and juicy and well seasoned), and rice pudding (blech - not so good, but desserts are their weak point). My companions had catfish and pasta, all of which were enjoyed. Bill for my meal was about 40 dollars w/ two glasses of nice chardonnay.

I haven't been yet but someone wrote into Tom's WaPo chat today raving about their RW experience at Art and Soul. From what this diner said, they really did RW correctly, plus Art himself was there :)
