Hi, I'm new to this board and fairly new to California, looking for suggestions on the best farmers' markets in the area. Seeking fresh local produce, natural meat, local cheese, fresh fish, pretty much everything. Not looking for a list of markets, I've already found that, but rather for opinions of your favorite. Thanks.

Yeah, there is a lot of info on here about farmers markets.

Personally I love Little Italys. (But I can walk there).

no, it was a separate vendor on the west end of the market, can't remember what their name, but only had sea urchin to sell and delicious samples to taste. good instruction of how to clean and prepare

              Cool.

Any idea if they will be there tomorrow?

There are two that I'd say are especially good, the Sunday one in Hillcrest, and the Saturday one in Little Italy. Saturday is when you'll find cheese and meat, Sunday has more produce. There's a guy selling pastured chickens in Hillcrest on Sunday, but he's not in Little Italy on Saturday, and conversely there's a guy with pastured beef in Little Italy, but not in Hillcrest.

Thanks for the quick response. That is great to know as they are both pretty close to my neighborhood.
