Wienstein and Gavinos

A friend has applied for a job here. As I've been out of town for 20+ years. And he is new to Quebec. Does anyone have any opinions on the establishment.

He spent a shift in the kitchen yesterday and was not too impressed. He turned the job down.

I've had good osso buco a couple times there, but the risotto that came with was tasty but too starchy. It's decent, but it's not great. That said, I'd go back if I was in the neighbourhood and with not-too-adventurous companions (I wasn't picking the place or the tab either time, natch).
It's right on Crescent, so he should get big spenders in there (though they are sometimes the worst tippers). And yeah, it's loud.

Very busy and loud, catering to flashy youngish people with no taste. Probably a stressful but relatively high-paying place to work as waitstaff.

The last time I was there, a few years ago, the food was mediocre, and the place was very noisy due to the floors.

It's on a street filled with bars and restaurants, quite busy. I was there a few years ago and it seemed to have a lot of groups of a younger crowd.
