Wellington Gastropub - This Spot Rocks!

JonasBrand Feb 17, 2009 09:21 AM

Recently took a trip through Kingston, Ottawa, Tremblant, and Montreal. Ate very well in each town. But one spot was a world apart....

Wellington Gastropub served amazing food from a daily changing menu. We ate / drank:

Winter Root Soup with Cinnamon Foam.
Seared Beef Carpaccio with fry Shallots.
Scallops on Jumbo Couscous.
Spaetzle with Northern Mushrooms.
Flourless Chocolate Cake
Green something or other Ale. The only brew from England on the menu.

Total came in around $80

One of the best meals I've had in Canada.

Just wish they had a kitchen in Toronto!

        Opps!

Yep. Wellington Ave. in Ottawa. Now that I think about, Ottawa had a surprising number of great restaurants. Even the shwarma was excellent.

      Agreed, agreed, agreed...

I've eaten there 3 times in the last 6 months and it rocked every time. I'm lucky to have a relative in Ottawa :)

Incredible value and amazing atmosphere. You can tell the staff genuinely enjoy working there and it has a very relaxed environment that I've never really encountered before.
