Shirlington Restaurants

Looking for a quick meal before going to the movies. Any suggestions?

  1. Plenty of ok places. Just don't expect too much.

Saigonnais is probably your best bet. It's across the street from the new library. Because it is not with the main strip of restaurants, will be less crowded and will get you in and out faster. The two places I would avoid are Bistro Bistro and Luna Grill and Diner

    1. May not be what you want, but Bungalow Billiards has some of the best wings in the area, imo. You need to get the 3 Mile Island sauce on the side.

Otherwise I tend to agree with Steve.

      1. The best place in Shirlington is Carlyle Grand but it can have a wait and it might not be a "quick meal."

Aroma for Indian is pretty good and I imagine they would be quick if you requested them to be. Normally no wait.

Luna Grill and Diner is good, but normally has a pretty good wait, but their food is good and quick.

If you need super quick Bear Rock Cafe is ok, good turkey sandwich. And Busboys and Poets might also work?

        1. I agree on Carlyle Grand, although they do accept call ahead seating. Just call about 30 minutes before you plan to arrive and they should have a table waiting by the time you get there.

My family also enjoys T.H.A.I of Shirlington, but haven't been there in at least a year.

THAI seconded. And, generally, we can get in and out of there in less than 45 minutes.

          2. Aroma is decent Indian food.
