20% Cost of Dumpling Increase?

guttergourmet Feb 17, 2009 05:58 AM

My God-Eldridge Dumpling House a/k/a Vanessa's now gets $1 for 4 dumplings instead of 5. This country is going to hell.

Not only that they stopped making the best dumpling they had to offer - The chicken mushroom - They now call it the chicken salad dumpling (which really throws me off). It's chicken and veggies....Very upsetting.

Old, old news. It's been like that since the renovation more than a year ago.

PS-we're talking about two different places. I was referring to Vanessa's Dumplings (on 14th) and I believe YOU were referring to Eldridge Dumpling House (which, according to their menu, dont even make chicken dumplings)

The title of the post that kicked off this thread specifically referred to the Eldridge Dumpling House (which is also known as Vanessa's.) I figured if the OP said "Eldridge St." he probably wasn't referring to a place on 14th St.

As to the old news, here's a post from January of 2008 that refers to the price increase.

What's worse is that the 14th St location of Vanessa's is even more expensive than the Eldridge location - 30 dumplings for $7.50 versus 50 for $9 at Eldridge.
