Bakery in the City?
I'm looking for a place to buy either a cake, cupcakes, or any good baked treats to give for a work birthday celebration. I'm sick of M&S, Waitrose, Tescos and I think Patisserie Valerie might be too expensive.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks so much.

There's Konditor and Cook at the base of the Gherkin, not cheap tho'.
Le Pain Quotidien on Bread Street (not been).
The stuff from the various branches of Paul is not bad.
There's a branch of an artisan bakery on Carter Lane (they also have a branch at Borough Market) but I'm blanking on the name.
