I'm hearing great things about this River Road establishment as well as their chef - has anyone had the pleasure?

  1. have had the pleasure for the past 15 yrs or so. great beer selection and marginal but drinkable wine list. partake outside or belly up to the bar on one of the lively barstools.
    Tex Mex Wimpy Boiger w/Sweet Fries and Special Sauce, RB Debris PoBoys, Red Beans and Rice on Mondays, Alligator Sausage, Buffalo Oysters, Sea-Food Platter.
    Chef Mike's Specials are usually sold out by 11:30 or so, get there early. if he ever does the thai bouillabaisse again, I'm ready for heaven.

    1. Rivershack's fried pickles are the best in town, and believe me I've done some research on that.

      1. I saw a piece on them on the food channel show this weekend on Diners, Drive-ins, etc. and it looked very good.

        1. Wife and I ate there recently, met the Chef. The entire staff was very friendly. The beer was very cold and the roast beef poboy was a must. The chef actually seasons a roast and puts onto your sandwich meaning it is not just sliced deli roast beef. The wife loved the fried fish. The Rivershack may be off the beaten path but is a must if you go to New Orleans. It was so good, we did lunch there the next day too.
