This used to be such a popular place to go (line out the door & all that...) but reviews I've read lately are not very complimentary. Are they another post-Katrina casualty in terms of food?

I wouldn't consider it a post Katrina casualty. I've never been impressed with it. Every time I'm down in the quarter the lines are still long though.

Agree with you roro, I never thought it was good (even when it was smaller on Chartes). Its selling point was big sandwiches. I live here in the Quarter and it is packed almost every time I go past.

In long-gone days of yore, the place had pretty good pastrami. I haven't been inside in years, since my pastrami-sandwich-splitting friend passed away.
