Malls
Some complexes - like the Eaton Centre, the Yonge St. strip and the Pacific Mall - are always around on the holiday because of their special status as 'tourist areas'. But unlike last year - when a lot of them stayed open - Family Day 2009 will see most of them with their doors closed. Here's a brief list of some of the bigger shopping spots in the city and their plans for Monday. The few that are open will likely have reduced hours, so check before you go.
Open
Eaton Centre
Pacific Mall
Woodbine Centre
Closed
Albion Centre
Centrepoint
Dufferin Mall
Fairview Mall
Mississauga Square One
Promenade
Scarborough Town Centre

No-Frills
Some stores are open on Family Day, with varying hours. Others aren't. A lot depends on the one in your area. The No Frill's at 1591 Wilson Ave. will be letting you buy groceries on Monday. But the ones at Victoria Park Ave. or Eglinton Ave. will be shut tight for 24 hours. Check here to see if your store is one of those where it's business as usual.
Price Choppers
Similar to No Frills - some places are open, but many others are closed. Check here to find out which description matches the store near you.

If you are really in a pinch, Shoppers Drug Mart is open (at least the one near me is). Some locations are quite good for basic groceries.
