Anyone know where I can get shishito peppers?

Or padrones? (prefer shishito)

Located in Silver Lake so closer better than farther.

Thought I might find some @ Hollywood Sun am farmer's mkt but no dice.

Thx for any help.

A friend purchased them at his local (Venice) Whole Foods Market.

Nijiya Market in Little Tokyo should have it. They sometimes sell the plant too if you are interested in growing them in the spring. Of course, if you are ever in the Southbay, I know Mitsuwa has them for sure as well as Marukai Market in Torrance. Good Luck!

I bought the plant at one of the nurseries on Sawtelle. Not too hard too grow in summer, although not as idiot-proof as growing hot chilies.

I think you are not seeing them at the farmer's market because they are not in season now. Maybe if you find them at a Japanese supermarket now, they are hothouse variety or shipped from abroad.

FWIW, seen them @ Mitsawa (westside) but i'd venture that most locations have 'em.

From an older post about Shishito peppers....someone suggested checking out the markets in Little Tokyo.
