Trying to Remember a Restaurant Name from the Late 70's
I hope that this is not too far off topic.
For a week now I have been searching my memory for a restaurant from the late 70's that was downtown and that I used to visit on my frequent business trips to Toronto.
From what I remember it was upstairs, was a combination of North American Chinese and Deli, the premises were very large and so were the portions.
The other big clue that somehow sticks in my mind is that the logo contained drawings of two men's faces.
I *think* that the name of the restaurant was the two names of the men plus the word 'deli' but I am not sure.
Can anyone help as this is driving me nuts?
Thanks in advance.
Easy! If I am not mistaken, you are describing Ginsberg and Wong. It was in fact a chinese food/deli restaurant. It was at Village by the Grange near the Art Gallery of Ontario (the Dundas & University area) Not great food, but good food & a Toronto institution...for a while.
re: Toronto Fastfoodie
Now I can rest my brain!
Ginsberg and Wong for sure. The place wasn't bad at all. "Just call the Wong number for the wait list or delivery."
