[London] What do people think of Bentley's?
We went to Bentley's on Friday for a Valentine's Eve treat. It was an evening of extreme highs with some sensational oysters and troubling lows with some overcooked sole that they insisted was perfectly cooked.
Is this a one off or have others experienced this too? I have a suspicion that it used to be first class but has maybe lost focus since Richard Corrigan opened his eponymous restaurant.
Would love to know if anyone else has an opinion on this.

Don't they know the customer is ALWAYS right? I find it very annoying when the staff disagrees about the overcooking (or undercooking) of food.

re: Browners
You should write them a letter. I was shocked when my husband sent one to the people at The Hinds Head in Bray. He complained about the poor quality of a meal we had last summer when we had a guest along. Mr. Z. got a very nice letter back and was told to let them know next time we eat there. (I'm not sure there will be a next time. :-))
Maybe they will give us a free pud.
