Pacific Coast Hwy Dining - moved from the California board

My boyfriend and I will be driving from San Diego to LA on the pacific coast hwy to catch a flight. We want to find a nice place to stop at during the drive to grab a lunch/snack. Can someone please recommend a nice place we can stop at during our drive into LA that will give us a really nice view of the ocean and great food? We don't have any budget restrictions so any recommendation would be helpful!

    1. While we have not been yet the Studio Restaurant at the Montage resort in Laguna Beach has had some excellent comments here for both the food and the view. If you do go it will probably be a good thing that you have no budget restrictions.

        1. Las Brisas in Laguna Beach is a nice mexican restaurant with a beauitful view of the ocean. Great margaritas!

          Also Javiers in Newport Coast.

          Both are on PCH.

          1. For a good burger made with a great bakery burger bun, surf shack ambiance, view of da beach and a Dairy Queen next door for a really good cone to take on the drive ....

            T K Burger

              1. Unless you are traveling on Monday (closed) the Long Beach Museum of Art, 2300 E Ocean, Long Beach (562-439-2119) has a great cafe, Claire's, that overlooks the ocean, has patio dining, and interior tables if it is chilly. Galleries are fun as well.
