From the 'bought for one use' Dept: Tian Mian Jiang

Hi all, for my pizza party I bought a can of tian mian jiang - the sweet sauce that is used on the pancakes for Beijing duck. It is a little more funky and salty than hoisin. It was really cheap and I thought it would be fun to make a 'Beijing duck' pizza.

The pizza was great but what do I do with the rest of this stuff? Any ideas/recipes?

Thin it out with some honey and water and you'll have a kick ass teriyaki sauce, or a nice marinade for chicken or beef.

Zhajiang mian, noodles topped with a sauce made from ground pork and tian mian jiang.

As I recall, it's pretty salty stuff. I might try using it in a sauce, in place of salt, over a roast pork. Perhaps combine it with tomato paste, maybe tomato sauce, and try it with rice or noodles in a casserole. Maybe make a sauce to add to a pocket bread sandwich.
