Underwhelmed w/ food at Jolie for brunch
Didn't like the one dinner we had there a few years ago when it first opened. Had brunch with friends today and while the service was very pleasant, the food was very lackluster. Corn beef hash was very disappointing---mound of very dry very minced corn beef with hardly any potato in it (seriously maybe 3 or 4 chunks). And two fried eggs were quite overcooked (seriously..) on the bottom. Probably the least tasty corned beef hash I've ever had. Husband's omelet was 'okay'. Pretty skimpy, especially on the ingredients filling it. Coffee was decent.
Never had brunch there (we're not brunch people) but I agree that the food has never been worth going for. I've gone now maybe 5 or 6 times since it opened (different friends wanting to try it, my aging memory not clear on why I didnt like it the previous time, etc.) and have never had anything more than mediocrity. No real disasters either but, with the abundance of choice in the area, this place is now completely off my list given your experience.

Jolie remains on my radar solely because they have good oysters. A dozen oysters and a beer at the bar are the only experiences I've had at Jolie in several years.

I have to agree, Jolie has been very mediocre and overpriced on the two occasions I visited. Bacchus is better, especially for brunch, and much more authentically French.
