OK, so the BF and I are driving west Katella near, I dunno, maybe Glassell on Saturday and what did we spy on the street by one of the big car dealerships? An In-n-Out Cookout Trailer!

Yes, for a mere $1,000, you can serve In-n-Out Burgers (alas, no fries or shakes) to your nearest and dearest. Check out the website below and click on COOKOUT TRAILER in the navigation bar on the left.

The missus has had first-hand experience with the In-N-Out Cookout Trailer. She said it sucked. In comparison to eating at an actual In-N-Out, that is.

She was right. Went to a party last summer that parked the In-N-Out truck outside. Oy.

I'm with you two, but when your employer pays for it (as happened for me with 2 separate jobs) you don't complain. For me the issue is whether you could order off the "secret menu" or not (once yes, but with abominable wait, another time no). The other thing that detracts is that in my experience you don't get fries. Another tidbit: there's a truck, about the same size as a standard catering truck, and then there's a trailer- a full 18 wheeler. One event needed both!

I have to disagree here. It ain't In-N-Out but it really is better than most catering. Our building in Century City hosts them every year and I look forward to it.

I am so sick of getting having to get into my car to get anything decent.

Our building features the Swill Pit Stylings o' C2 Cafe.

I have developed a deep, deep resentment towards the "Patina Group."

See if you can talk the powers that be into having Richard Jones Pit BBQ cater your building's next event. It may cost a little more than the INO burger wagon, but their barbecue-based menus (not so sure about their other menus) are miles ahead of those offered by most catering operations. I really, really miss the restaurant they used to have in Anaheim Hills - some of the best Texas-style 'cue to be found in So Cal during the Reaganomics years. I wish someone could convince them to open a restaurant again.

Saw the website. Catering menu looks good and has "testimonials." However, the proof is in the tasting. Has anyone else eaten his reportedly great Texas BBQ?
OR
Do you know if they offer taste testing at their location in Santa Ana?
OR
For $20 per person, we could have an Orange County Chowfest in William Mason Park (Irvine) for taste tasting quite a variety of his offerings.

Any tasting experience with the Richard Jones Pit BBQ?

Go Wahoo's instead. Not only is their food better on trailer but they also return a bit of the profits to your cause, if it is a non-profit. Same with Pat and Oscar's.

With the fries, I would imagine it would be the issues of rolling around with hot liquified grease and cooling time after using it might be prohibitive.

I am guessing on this but the constant ice cold temp of the shake machine might be hard to maintain in a mobile setting.
