Anyone looking for good food in a relaxed, very relaxed setting? Try Wild Turkey on Central Ave where Louie & Johnnie's used to be. It has a nice little bar in the front, and the dining off to the side. I've been there three times now and as far as I can tell, they never have more than one waiter (who serves as busboy also, and a bartender who helps out. This being said, even when they were at 75% capacity, service was above average.

A very interesting menu, with great portions makes this place a winner. I have tried as many things as I can, and have tasted my dinner partners plates as well, giving me a good idea of the menu as a whole. Here's my quickie reviews

APPS
Buffalo Wings - they are advertised as famous, but these are good not great. Pretty standard, with a good bleu cheese dipping sauce.

Coconut Shrimp - very tasty.Big shrimp and a very tasty marmalade sauce

Potato Skins - very good, although some fresh salsa would go a long way to better these.

Soups
Chili - very good. A little different than normal restaurant chili in that there are chunks of beef in the chili. It's actually almost all chunks, not chopped meat. Very nice.

Burgers
Spicy Bleu Burger - cooked exactly the way I ordered it and very thick and juicy. Good buffalo and very good bleu cheese sauce.

Entrees - the home run of the place
Johnnie's Meatloaf - absolutely delicious. Served with pepper, onions, mushrooms, and melted mozzarella. A heaping helping of mashed potatoes and extra gravy upon request.

Kentucky Hot Brown.- Sliced turkey with tomatoes and bacon served on french toast covered in this delivious cheese sauce (not extremely cheesy which is a good thing). The plate is enormous. Could easily be for two.

Rack of Ribs - delicious, fall off the bone, with a true smoke ring, not the overcooked kind. Sauce is delcious and once again a huge portion of mashed potatoes.

Fried Chicken & Waffles - I had this last night, and while I'm still confused about who first started this combo, the Chicken was insanely. good. The waffles, was a waffle. Nottoo exciting. Served with corn on the cob.

Chicken Cordob Bleu - 3 somewhat small pieces of chicken rolled ham & Swiss and served with a huge portion of mashed potatoes and a delcious marsala sauce. Finally a place you can actually taste the marsala.

Dessert
Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Tart - my only complaint was that it was sered al a mode and I don't like Ice Cream on my Pecan Pie. Very good though. It might have been store bought, but still soft and sweet. Delicious.

If there is any complaint I have, and honestly, it's not mine, it's that of fellow diners, is that it has been a little chilly in there during the dinner hours. The place is rarely packed, so that might play a part, but like I said, to me it's comfortable, but others complained that it might inly be 62-65 degrees inside.

Word is they deliver also!

I'm interested in trying this place but the food sounds a little heavy. Do they have any salads. How about pasta?

Someone at the table next to us had a salad and it was enormous as well. I believe they had a Cobb salad. They also had a salad special the last night I was there. The salad, aside had some of the usual suspects, had peaches and pecans. Sounded delcious, but I was in the mood for something more substantial.
