Anyone know of bars or restaurants in SF with a big selection of amari comparable to the dozen or so on offer at Dopo?

The most common ones around here are Fernet Branca and Cynar. Others I've seen around include Abano, d'Abruzzo, Averna, Borsci, Ciociaro, Lucano, S. Maria al Monte, Meletti, Montenegro, Nardini, Nonino, and Ramazzotti.

the bar Rye has a very good selection--the owner brings back bottles from Italy; you will see rare bottles of Nonino, an excellent rabarbaro made by Nardini, and others, depending on how long it's been since the guy came back from Italy. I'm wondering, actually, where you saw Amaro Meletti in SF. AFAIK, it never had west coast distribution. Ditto Santa Maria al Monte, which you can't seem to get anymore. I also assume you mean 'Punch Abruzzo' and not Jannamico D'Abruzzo, which has never been distributed in the US.
