Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

How's that Masa place I keep hearing about?

Any thoughts? Is it worth checking out?

    1. I think it's great.

        1. I assume you are talking about Masa, the $400 pp japanese/sushi restaurant in the Time Warner Center. I have no idea how anyone can compare it to Szechuan Gourmet or Sripraphai. That would be like comparing Di Fara Pizza to Jean George simply because Italy is on the same continent as France. Both are great restaurants, but they serve completely different cuisine at vastly different price points.

The most apt comparisons in the city would maybe be Sushi Yasuda, Kuruma Zushi, or 15 East or Soto because those two serve more non-sushi dishes. I think people here would recommend that you try one of those restaurants, especially Yasuda, at 1/4 the cost of Masa.

            1. easily the most overrated restaurant in new york possible in the country . we have been there twice. altough it is very good , it is far from the best.
