On, Off & On Again: The Counter in Westlake Village

I spied The Counter sign back up on the fence next to the Wolfgang Puck Cafe in Westlake Village on Lindero Canyon near Costco. It says something about "Coming Soon."

It was on, off several months ago, and now it is back on...so it seems. Does anyone have any further information?

I saw a similar sign last night in Studio City on Ventura Blvd.

The Counter has gotten notorious for this ... they first promised the Studio City location on their website almost two years ago (before the L'Imagerie gallery had even moved out), and it's been "coming soon" ever since. Don't hold your breath, they're pretty overextended for an upscale burger chain in this economy ...

The counter in WLV is finally open!! I haven't had a chance to try it, but will report back when I do.

I am the BIGGGEST Counter fan ever...I checked their website and it says that this location should be opening March 2009. I really do hope so as it will be a much shorter drive for me than the Santa Monica location

What is it that you like so much at The Counter?
I have only been there once and don't remember anything about the food; I do, however, remember some very poor and slow service.

I seem to recall that they have very nice counters. The fried pickle chips are tasty too.

Hey liu...
my oh my...i love the chicken burgers (the turkey burgers aren't nearly as good). I usually get it with the sweet bbq sauce, caramelized onions, and then whatever toppings suit me at the time. I also like their fries, nice and crispy. However I must admit that my favorite part of all is the milkshakes....drool.....chocolate and apple pie are my personal faves

Don't get your hopes up too much. If history repeats itself with the way they move it'll be many months when (and if) they open.

I work nearby and I'll check next week and see if they start any construction.

I have no hopes. There are many other restaurants I would rather see in that location.

If you want a good burger in our area, The Ranch at T.O. and Lindero is very good...and a different kind of experience!
