visiting from LA this weekend - what won't be too crowded??

we are two chowhounds visiting the bay area from los angeles this weekend looking for great food - nothing fancy since we're on a budget, but something casual and maybe even romantic - i know, hard to find since everything will be packed for v-day. i lived up there during college and don't remember much except for my favorite pho and taco spots. we will have a car but prefer to stay in the city. we are adventurous and would like to try something that's unique and local, and of course organic etc. is always great. i am apstry chef so bakery recommendations are always appreciated. i missed out on citizen cake last time - everything i wanted was gone already!
