Big group walk-in on Saturday evening?

Potentially large group (may be 4, may be 8-10 or even a few more) will be looking for somewhere to eat in the vicinity of the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott on a Saturday night. Preferably walk-in, since the group size isn't set, and able to finish by about 7:30 or 7:45 pm.

Downtown Atlantic is a possibility but we'd like something a little less $$$. Waterfront would be ideal if we could be sure of sitting down soon, but isn't that often crowded even at 6pm?

Ideas welcome.

    Well, seeing as it's Valentine's Day on Saturday may add to the challenge, but Waterfront may work out for you if you are there around 6 -- if they're already full you can try some of its neighbors like the Chip Shop (fish & chips, nice beers, etc.) or Waterfalls (middle eastern) which are less likely to have special Valentine's dinners. I'd call around to see who's NOT having a Valentine's special...

      Thanks - Sorry I wasn't clear about that, this is not this coming Saturday, but a couple of weeks from now, so Valentine's Day is not an issue.

      Good to hear that Waterfront may not be too crowded, though.

        Even if it' means making a last minute call, on a Sat night with a big group, you are so much better off calling to see if they can hold a table for you. Once your're into 8-10+ people w/o advance notification you may have a very long wait. A lot of places in the area only have one or two large group tables and don't even have standing room to wait around inside and at this time of year it' can be a looooong coooold wait :-}
