DC hound girls weekend - need help!

My girlfriend is getting married so a bunch of us have planned a trip to NOLA for the last hurrah. We are staying in the W Hotel and will be going out for at least one nice dinner as a group. Would ideally like a hip place, moderately priced although it is a celebration so would be willing to pay for the perfect meal. Any suggestions?? any kind of food is great

Also i am the only person going that has already been to New Orleans before so while the other gals do the touristy things I plan on bumming around alone and trying to get to know the city on a deeper level. Any suggested lunch spots that cannot be missed and that will be ok for a single diner? Thanks all!

check out Rambla in the International Hotel, not far from where you are staying. LOA is the bar next door, so have a drink there before or after dinner.

Sat. is Valentine's Day so you wil need resv. If you can't get one, your best bet would be places that never take them : Dick/Jenny's or Jacques Imos. If you want to avoid a long wait, get there about 15 min prior to opening. There will be parades so getting around may be difficult.

JB, any news on Dick & Jenny's since the change in the kitchen?

I've eaten at Dick and Jenny's several times since the change in the kitchen. Everything is still wonderful, and I might even be so bold to suggest that there's been improvement. All the plates look great and the specials they've been offering recently have been stellar.

          Nice dinner in:
FQ - Stella, Antoine's (classic), Bacco, Bayona
          Near FQ - Herbsaint, August,
Uptown/GD - Dick and Jenny's, Jacque-imo's (very NOLA), Lilette, Le Petit Grocery, Upperline, Commander's Palace (classic)

Lunch: Crabby Jacks, Willie Mae's Scotch House, Domilise's, Central Grocery, The Joint, Cochon (dinner too)... so much more...

          Late night: Verti Marte

When all else fails, find a bar and drink your meal...
