Next week my wife and I will be going to Pegu Club and I am hoping for some recommendations. Not limited to any particular base spirit as I like a broad spectrum of drinks. We have gone once before and really enjoyed it.My wife had a moijito type drink that was topped with champagne(an Old Cuban) and I had a Blood and Sand, Gin Gin Mule and Pegu Club. All precisely made and delicious. What I'm wondering is are there any drinks you've had there that you loved and haven't seen anywhere else or any drinks that you've had elsewhere but Pegu Club made much better? This winter my drink of choice has been a Manhattan(preferably with Rye),but I wouldn't order one at Pegu because I can get one anywhere. Although some that I've had have been incredibly bad.Best one so far was at The Harrison in Tribeca. But I digress. This is a long-winded way of asking if you've had anything at the Pegu Club that wowed you? Thanks for your help.

If you like the Gin Gin Mule and Old Cuban, try the Jamaican Firefly (lime, rum, simple syrup, ginger beer) or the French Pearl (gin, absinthe, lime, mint).

Red Pepper, Red Pepper is nice, too, as is the Zelda.

I haven't had it yet, but love the sound of the Holy Roller--pecan infused bourbon and demerara simple syrup. Also relevant to note is their earl grey "marteani", don't know if they're still serving it...

Thanks for the suggestions. My wife and I went Friday night and had a great time.Everything we had was delicious and wonderfully balanced.I had the French Pearl,Little Italy(Rye,sweet vermouth, cynar),Tantris Sidecar(Cognac, calvados, cointreau, chartreuse and citrus),and an Early Grey MarTEAni(Earl grey infused gin, lemon juice, simple, egg white). My wife went with her Old Cuban favorite. All exceptionally well-made.I highly recommend a night at the Pegu.Excellent cocktails,a lively bar ,a good number of tables and also some tasty small plates to go with the cocktails.
