Bespoke Chocolates Review

After reading about a pseudo controversy on Eater about a post for this place being removed I felt the need to write a review on my experience here this past weekend. My friend had heard about it in TONY and as she led me down a completely random alley that I assumed was a construction zone, we came upon this little shop. Apparently the pretzel covered chocolate with salted caramel was the one to try, so we got a few of those and i decided to get a few of the southhampton tea variety that the owner recommended. As a guy I have to say that i'm not a huge chocolate person, but these truffles were pretty amazing. The pretzel one especially was just a great combination of salty/sweet/oozy goodness. I normally only buy over-priced chocolates as gifts for obligatory holidays/i'm sorries, but I could legitmately see myself stopping by here to buy chocolates to eat just for myself. Yes, the fact that it is so close to me helps, but really these chocolates are great and i highly recommend them.

I thought the pretzel one was good, especially if you like caramel, but the true winner was the Single-Estate Colombian Dark Chocolate Truffle. This one was really mindblowing and in the running for some of the best chocolate in New York.

Thanks! I've been wondering about Bespoke and am looking forward to trying it.

They were mentioned in NY mag this week along with a few others. I see a chocolate tasting in my near future!

I tried the pretzel-covered sea salted caramels, espresso dome, chai spice, southhampton tea and hazelnut praline. They were all delicious. However, the espresso dome and hazelnut praline had very strong caramel tones underneath, which is not a problem for me as I adore caramel. May I dare say that I prefer these over Kee's?

Pretty bold! They're a different style, I think.

Was in Bespoke yesterday and was glad to see some new/unfamiliar offerings...a Turkish Coffee truffle along with one or two others I hadn't seen before.

I dropped by here a few weeks ago after hearing all the great things about it. The Sea salt/caramel/pretzel truffle was DEEEE-licious. The other ones were also very good; but I loved this combo of sweet and salty. And, yes, I think these are better than Kee's, but I'm not really an expert.
