Brats Brothers Sherman Oaks - Brief Report
Tried this place on Sunday for first time...cute little place, easy to miss on Ventura Blvd.
Friendly, family owned.
Food clearly cooked to order - mine brat took a good 10 minutes after ordering.
Best sausage I've had in LA (I had german) - juicy, perfectly cooked on a warm, semi-hard bun. Sauerkraut side was delicious. Wish they had german potato salad, instead of mayo based.
Meal was $8.95, including a drink and two sides.
A little pricey, but I'd return due to excellent quality of chow.
I can speak for the European sausages, they are authentic and delicious. As for the New Zealander, Australian, Peking, Buffalo, Cajin and Rancher....Aus Gezeichnet! The Alligator wasn't for me, though. As for sides, oh my God. Try the Spaztle and the Roasted Potatoes. Say Guten Tag to Roland, Peter or Guido for me!
I've been here a few times, most recently last Saturday. I really like their sausages a lot, and the owners are very amiable. I've only had their German-style sausages -- I haven't tried the "exotics" like alligator. They are also agreeable about BYOB provided it's discrete (German-style sausages without beer is like PBJ without the J).
