Molé for lunch near UTC in San Diego?

Hey All,

Tired of the xxxbertos style Mexican food near UTC, I'm wondering if anyone serves a good Molé in or close enough to the UTC area to go for lunch during the work week?

  1. Been a while since I've been in the area, but on Miramar Rd. behind Denny's is Pico Rico, it was a real good spot last year.

    1. Don't know how good Cozymel's is in the UTC center but here you go..

I would stay far away from Cozymels. Overpriced americanized mexican food. But pretty typical for UTC.

I can be more specific than that. Some people don't mind the Americanization factor, as long as the food is done well. My experience is that Cozymel's was sliding downhill each time we visited, and within a few years it reached the point that El Torrito was a better option.

      2. More Info, used do real good Guisados, please report back if you go, it was one of my favorites in the area for lunch.

Pico Rico changed hands last year and is now another nondescript taco joint. In fact, it's changed hands twice since.

Too bad, the rellenos were spectacular.
