Taking my son back to college. Driving 95 from Westchester to New London.
Any decent places to stop for dinner other than the Pizza Places in New Haven and
the fish places in Mystic.

Yes! Directly off of 95 in Mystic is Tastings. It's wine tasting and plenty of interesting/delicious food. I am still having fond memories of the roast beef sandwich I had there. They also serve "small plates" and "bistro plates"--

Foster's in New Haven isn't very far from the highway. Went for the first time recently (based on recommendations here) and really enjoyed it (braised short ribs & pulled pork sliders):

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in CT is Wild Ginger in Orange on the Post Road. It's just a couple of minutes off the highway:

How does any of that sound for starters? Also, one of my favorite Thai places is in New London (Bangkok City), but it's not quite as close to the highway--it's on Captain's Walk down by the train station. Still easy to get to and shares a roof with Little Tokyo, so you can order both Thai and sushi. Yum!

Boom in Old Lyme is very good. Variety of items on the menu, all well executed. Exit 70, I think.

I'll plug my Google restaurant maps again and say that there are several places I have noted as easy off-on from I-95. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&s...

Thanks so much. for all the suggestions. Didn't want to have to stop at Chowder Bowl.

I think I posted a bad link to my Google Map. Try this: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?source...
              I also added Jack's and Liv's.

Cafe Routier in Westbrook is less than a mile off exit 65. Jacks Saybrook Steak and Liv's Oyster Bar in Old Saybrook at little over a mile from exit 67. Both are full restaurants with much more besides steak and oysters. Flanders fish market in East Lyme has a fairly good seafood restaurant attached. Just north of exit 74.
