Culinary Tours in San Miguel de Allende?

Not quite sure where to place this post but figure this is as correct as anything (is there a place on here where people talk about culinary tours?).

Just wondering if anyone out there has done a culinary tour in San Miguel de Allende and has feedback on where to steer me. The price can vary pretty greatly for a week and just not sure which to pick.

Any suggestions/tips etc would be greatly appreciated!

Salud!

Katie

  1. I haven't taken the tour but there is a group called 'Flavors & Magic' doing a culinary tour in San Miguel. You can find their website here:

    1. Hey Katie,
I'm also interested in any info you find out about culinary tours in San Miquel. Thanks for posting the topic. I'm also interested in people's recommendations for culinatry tours in the U.S.

      1. I can help both of you. Please email me privately at patalarga@baddog.com for information, but in the meantime you'll want to take a look at www.casaluna.com.

And take a look here, too: http://www.mexicocooks.typepad.com. The article that will post on Saturday, March 21 at 10AM is about a recent cooking event that I headed in San Miguel.

        1. Katie and Ramona,
For a really terrific experience check out www.nancyzaslavsky.com She's very knowledgeable and leads culinary tours to great food destinations around Mexico. Nancy's San Miguel de Allende tour had awesome classes and adventures. Highly recommended!

I will second your recommendation, Nancy is fabulous, and has been working in SMA for years.

          2. Just got back from SMA yesterday--took cooking class from one who leads culinary tours in SMA and Italy. See her at http://www.mexicocooks.com. It was terrific!

            1. Check out mymexicotours.com for culinary and cultural tours to San Miguel and all over Mexico.... including cooking classes with the one and only Diana Kennedy! Betsy is so much fun and seems to know every one in Mexico.

              1. Twelve of us spent a week in San Miguel with the Flavors and Magic company. Sheri and
Alberto are the best. We dined in private homes, fabulous restaurants and had the best
time. Check it out on the internet.
